Emergency Closure information

In the event of having to close the school due to adverse weather, broken heating or other unforeseen circumstances the following procedure will apply:

1. If the school has to be closed outside normal school hours:

The closure will be announced on local radio; Heart FM and BBC Southern Counties Radio.  Information will be posted on the Warden Park School website by 7.30am.

2. If the school needs to be closed during normal school hours:

All students will remain in school until released by a member of staff.

Year 9, 10 and 11 students will be permitted to walk or make their own way home, if they can confirm to us that they have a safe, warm place to go to and the weather conditions are suitable for the journey.

Year 7 and Year 8 students will need to contact parents for permission to walk home. This can be done by Warden Park staff or by using your son or daughter's mobile under staff supervision.

Students who travel some distance on WSCC contract coaches, service buses or taxis and who cannot be picked up will remain at school under staff supervision until you are able to collect them, or confirm with us that they have a safe, warm place within walking distance which you are happy for them to go to.
