Students at Warden Park have taken part in the national Young Enterprise programme again this year.  Led by Citizenship teacher Mr James Carr and supported by local business advisers, five teams of Year 10 students set up and ran their own Young Enterprise companies.

The first tasks for the directors of each company were to agree on a name for their company and the products or services that they wished to market.   "Sussex Photography" took photos of local Sussex scenes and made these into cards, calendars and canvases, "Paw Products" sold products for pets, "Treat Yourself" offered photo frames, jewellery and candles, "Indira" sold products made in India and "Party Planit organised a Christmas Trade Fair and children's parties.

The Burgess Hill Young Enterprise Trade Fair on Saturday 6th December in the Market Place shopping centre provided the first opportunity for the companies to market their products and services to the general public.  During the Trade Fair the companies were visited by Young Enterprise judges who were awarding prizes in a number of categories.   Both "Paw Products" and "Treat Yourself" impressed the judges enough to win runner-up awards in the "Best Trade Stand at the Trade Fair" category.

Four of the five Warden Park companies took part in the Young Enterprise Mid Sussex Area Finals event in East Grinstead on April 29th.  At this event the companies had to set up a trade stand to display their wares and then give a 5 minute presentation to a large audience about their company and their experiences of the Young Enterprise scheme.  Despite the fact that all of the other teams competing were six formers from independent schools, two of Warden Park's teams did brilliantly and won the following awards:-
