Year 7

Transition Learning: Confidence building, bullying,, learning styles.

Active Citizenship: Learning about Guide Dogs for the Blind and raising money by holding a Spring Fair.

PSHE: Puberty and changing emotions.

Year 8

PSHE: Healthy eating and healthy lifestyles. Risky behaviour including smoking, alcohol and drug education.

Religious Education: Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ and places of pilgrimage.

Financial Capability: The stock market and trading.

Active Citizenship: Heroes of our world and being heroes in our world.

Year 9

PSHE: Sex Education including contraception, STDs and the emotional aspect of sexual relationships. .

Religious Education: Old Testament Heroes.

Active Citizenship: Changing the world.

GCSE Short Course in Citizenship

Year 10

GCSE OCR Short Course in Citizenship covering active Citizenship where students run a campaign as their piece of controlled assessment and follow a course on identity, democracy and justice. (For more information on this course, click here ).

Year 11

Students can complete the GCSE OCR Short Course in Philosophy and Ethics where students study Good and Evil, Revelation and Science and then Relationships, Medical Ethics and Poverty and Wealth. (For more information on this course, click here ). If students do not study this course they will study a Citizenship based course covering topics such as careers, media ethics, sex education and risky behaviours.
